Welcome
. . .
to my Earth Science for Teachers page!
The Geology classes taught at CSU
Los Angeles strive to give the student an introduction to the
world of geology. The Earth Science for Elementary Teachers class
is designed primarily for students in CSULA's elementary teacher
preparation programs. Basic concepts in earth science are correlated
with the California science standards for the multiple subject credential
and the California science content standards for grades K-6 (California
State Board of Education, 2001). Topics are illustrated by demonstrations
and activities. Lecture 2 hours, activity 2 hours
We
will be covering a lot of information, much of which will be new
to you. Plan on spending a few hours outside of class studying.
Please use any and all resources available to you: your textbook,
the internet, class lectures, myself.
