WebCT/Blackboard Online Quiz Directions

Directions for accessing quizzes

Use a Web browser to access http://webct6.calstatela.edu. Recommended Web browsers include Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.5 and later), and Netscape Navigator (version 7.0 and later).

1. Select "Course List" on the entry screen.
2. Select "College of Natural & Social Sciences" from the list of Catagory Names
3. Scroll down until you see the desired class name (i.e., GEOL158- Natural Disasters)
4. Click on the icon to expand the selection.
5. Click on the icon next to the desired class to enroll
6. Enter your NIS username and password. Click "Register" to enroll in the class. Don't have a NIS username and password? Contact NIS Account Assistance.
7. That's it! You should be enrolled in the class!
   

Now what?

The available course content will vary depending upon the class, but will look something like this:

In order to access the quizzes, select the "Quizzes" icon or link. A new screen will appear with a list of available quizzes. Select the desired quiz

A new screen will appear with the quiz description. Click on "Begin Assessment" to take the quiz. There are a few conditions for taking online quizzes:

1. You may only take each quiz once.
2. I cannot prevent you from using your notes and my powerpoints during this exam. However, I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANSWERS WHICH HAVE BEEN CUT FROM MY POWERPOINTS AND COPIED INTO THE EXAM, OR ANSWERS TAKEN STRAIGHT FROM THE TEXTBOOK, LECTURE NOTES, OR OTHER SOURCES! This is considered plagiarizing and shall be dealt with accordingly.
3. You may access the exam ONLY during the time mentioned in class/on the syllabus.
